The EVAHEART System is a left ventricular assist system (LVAS) developed for use as
a bridge to transplantation in cardiac transplant candidates who are at risk of imminent death from
nonreversible left ventricular failure.
The EVAHEART LVAS assists patients with a failing left ventricle by placing a centrifugal pump in parallel
with the ventricle, thereby providing blood flow for the vascular system and reducing the load on the ventricle.
The EVAHEART LVAS consists of implanted components and external components.
The implantable components are an Inflow Cannula, a Blood Pump, and an Outflow Graft.
A pump cable passes percutaneously through the patient’s skin and connects the Blood Pump to the Controller.
The external components are the Controller, power sources,
an Outer Belt, External Monitor, and a Battery Charger.
